Sorbiplast is a plasticizer used in manufacturing of soft gelatin capsules.

The quantity and nature of fill material and also the size of the capsule affects the ratio of 

gelatin-plasticizer to be used.

In the first instance, soft gelatin capsules were used solely as delivery systems for simple 

lipophilic fills such as purified oils of which glycerol was the only plasticizer needed. 

But latest innovations are much more complex and exhibiting a hydrophilic or hygroscopic 

character.

Furthermore, bioavailability and poorly soluble drugs may be addressed by hydrophilic soft 

gelatin capsule all formulations such as polyethylene glycol which is used to dispense low dose high potency drugs or to improve solubility.

 Sorbiplast can be added to formulations from 20% upto 50% to nd the optimum level for  drying time improvement.
